Hello, I am new to your community, because I have just joined it. That is the reason & the cause. I didn't need to join this community, it was a desire of mine. The only thing I need in this life is CHANGE to buy my food, and a piece of land to rest my head upon.
If you want CHANGE in this world, or PEACE for mankind, the first thing you need to acknowledge is the truth of our common reality.
I must tell you that your comment about the moment isn't technically correct. You say "there has never been any personal evidence of a time other than now". You are not looking in the right direction, my friend. The evidence is in your mind.
What you see & do indeed happens in the moment, and you can't change any of it once it has happened. Once you've seen & done something though, it enters your mind, and becomes an echo of the reality you witnessed. if you train yourself, you can then tell the truth about what's in your mind.
When I was young I made the consious statememt to myself, "never regret anything I do in this life, but try to learn from my mistakes". It has served me well.
I was born a Christian, and baptized before I knew what was going on. They trimmed my pee-pee too. I've been told that makes me a Jew, & Islam believes in doing it too.
Later, when I was able to think, I joined the Latter Day Saints, they made me a Priest.
The hypocrisy that i saw caused me to fall away, but in reality I never lost faith in the saying, "the truth will set you free". I just continued my life doing whatever i wanted & desired. What I needed always came my way. I declared myself an agnostic, because I'm not a liar, and I've never been afraid of what I don't know.
About 15 years ago it struck me like lightening. When tha moment occured I knew it was the truth & I freely told my Love & Mother that I knew what jesus knew. That was received like a Led Zeppelin. The statement just didn't float in their minds.
Silence is indeed golden, I'd call it a corollary to the Golden Rule. I kept my mouth shut so as not to upset those that i loved.
Time is indeed real, just as the Ultimate Truth, some call it GOD, others call it ALLAH. You can call it whatever you want, but generically it's the Infinite Reality.
We are indeed finite beings, we are born to this life & then we leave it. Therefore, we are the finite beings in this story. I HOPE you understand that you can't CHANGE the truth.
But, I know you question the past & the future, even though you claim they don't actually exist. I don't believe in reincarnation. I don't remember having any prior life. Tell my the truth do you?
BUT, I know the truth of predestination - I am proof of that. Therefore, there must be something more to us than just the body we live in. In my mind this proves the truth of duality.
Subdivided as such:
The Creator of all things, physical & concepual is that thing I mentioned, the Infinite Reality. I know what to call this because I understand the past, in my mind GOD is REASON, but ALLAH is on my mind for all of eternity.
I am not the creator, and neither are you. None of us are gods, not even jesus.
Within each & every one of us is contained this duality, the physical reality & what you think about everything. You sense the physical world with your physical senses, you interpret the input with your conceptual reality. Once you've interpretted the input you then decide on the output.
if you've got true peace of mind, you'll truly have peaceful actions. In reality that is the truth.
I am not the creator & neither are you. We are individual beings sharing this physical world, in the time we have together. Time once again is our common conceptual reality. You can't touch, see, or feel it. Just like GOD.

Richard, I thank you for not closing the door. I have discovered that many who are reaching out from the 'east', will censor that which they do not want to understand.
Do you believe it was fate or design that caused you to post on my 'birthday'? If you visit my corner of the virtual world, you may find that Fate & Design are in reality my daughters. And now on to your comments. . .
Many do focus on our differences, and in reality there are many. Man is different from woman, rich is different from poor, those that take responsibility are different from those that don't. And yet we all are here for a moment, and that moment is how we are the same.
While we acknowledge each other, and what we think & believe. I know there is truth in this world, and it is what is real to you & me. Whether you acknowledge this truth is completely up to you. Know that you can't change it, and neither can I too.
Time is indeed a reality that we all experience. We think in time, and talk in time, and in time we all will die.
In primitive societies time is recorded vocally. This is how Buddha spread his word, and his followers did it rather well.
In more advanced societies reality is recorded on something more solid. Stones, & clay, & srolls, & books. Whatever it is, it is somebody's attempt at letting us know what happened, and how to cope with it too.
You cannot deny time, because history is a record of it. You & I would probably agree, that what we read is but an echo. Just as our memories are. The only reality is that of the moment, again I hope we can agree. The future is nothing more than a figment of anyones imagination.
You have forums for non-duality, and duality also. I will not deny the reality of both types of thought. To tell you the truth though, here's how I'd like to explain it:
The Infinite Reality is that which was here before time began, & there after it's over. It is that which created the big bang, and the reason for all things.
We are finite beings, in that we are born to die. What we do in between those moments is what matters in this life.
Each and every one of us contain two distinct realities. The matter that makes up our bodies is what matters to our senses - the physical being of each one of us, is as real as you can see.
The conceptual reality is another thing that nobody can touch, see, or feel. Call it soul, spirit, conciousness, or anything that you want. It's what we think, and all our emotions, but it's something that is only yours.
We are autonomous beings, and everything else isn't us. The physical world is just as real as my physical being. The conceptual world is also real, but in reality it is time.
the time we have to live our life, and the time we spend defining everything.
This has gone on rather long, so I'll close for this moment.

While much of what I say online may appear to be bold & blunt, it's all there to serve a purpose to help people think. In reality I'm quite an interesting guy if we could sit and talk. I'll listen to what you have to say, before I tell you the truth.

When you say that "the first thing you need to acknowledge is the truth of our common reality," I just lately realized that some prefer to focus on our differences, How not to leave these people out, by insisting that they too acknowledge? Others of us can only acknowledge what's common up to a point. Perhaps we have beliefs that acknowledging is somehow giving something up? Of this I am not sure.
When I said that there was never any personal evidence of time, but only excursions as a thinking process, that is what I am saying, that you can look to your mind, (if you are so inclined). Well, you can get tired of that echo. Whether you call it reality or not?
One of the most powerful things you say is "I've never been afraid of what I don't know." Perhaps you are tired of that echo too, or don't fully believe in it anymore.
I would listen to what struck you 15 years ago. You don't have to keep sealed lips around here. You mention a sureness about predestination, but is there a seeing bigger than time? If you just happen to see what is always true, then if you try to fit it into time, it looks like you see something out of sequence. Don't trust the sequence?
You mention the physical reality and what you think about it. How do you separate those two? Could what you think about it also be rose colored glasses (or smoke colored) that you are looking through?
