Actualism
Have any of you readers come across "Actualism"? A man called Richard, who lives in Australia, spent 11 years in the enlightened state and then realised that there was something else which he call actualism. This new state makes a mockery of god-men, gurus, spirtuality, teachers and enlightenment. If you google "actualism, the wide and wondrous path to...", you will find a massive library about it. I would love to hear some intelligent feedback on it. The man lives 24 hours a day in complete happiness, having permanently altered his brain structure through cognitive enquiry and rid himself of the instinctual passions that we have all inherited.
... my intelligent feedback:
Bullshit!
:-)
... to be a little bit more serious:
another carrot in front of the donkey´s nose.
But hey - that´s all we got as a phenomenon.
IIaahh
i found this site myself a long time ago. It sounds very enticing. Not to sound like a know-it-all, but I would be very skeptical of anyone who makes such claims. As I recall, the "method" that he advices people to practice is just a variation on self-enquiry. I think he suggests that you ask yourself the question, "what am I experiencing presently in this moment of awareness?" every chance you get. And then at some point you find yourself in a state of "ego-lessness." Or something like that. I don't see how this is any different than any of the other claims being made out there. I haven't visited the site in a long time, though, so take my words with a grain of salt. I don't see how trying this could hurt though. I say, if it seems appealing to you, then why not give it a shot? And then report back to us on what kind of results you get.
